Adrienne Jones

Adrienne Jones, AICP, is the director of the Community Development department for the City of Daphne, Alabama. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and has earned a bachelor’s degree in the field of Community Planning and Urban Studies, as well as a graduate degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Alabama A&M University. Adrienne is also a Certified Alabama Planning and Zoning Official (CAPZO) course instructor for the University of North Alabama’s Continuing Education Department.

 

Adrienne is currently a member of the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) of the Eastern Shore Metropolitan Planning Organization, and serves as the mayor’s proxy on the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission’s Board of Directors. Most recently, she served on the Executive Committee of the Alabama Chapter of the American Planning Association as secretary.

 

Adrienne, a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, is the First Vice President of the Baldwin County Alumnae Chapter. She was recognized as a 2021 Focus Women’s Conference Forty Over Forty Recipient, as well as a member of the Women’s Foundation of Alabama Fall 2021 Women’s Policy Institute Fellowship. She has also served in leadership roles on the Ruff Wilson Board of Directors and as a member of Goodwill Easter Seals of the Gulf Coast.

 

Adrienne and Tim, husband of over 30 years, have three young adult children: Charlsie, Timothy II, and Shelby; and a puppy named Thai. They are members of City Hope Church. Her hobbies are arts and crafts centric. She is passionate about helping others realize their potential and goals both in the church and the community.

 

Adrienne is an advocate for wheelchair-bound individuals and caregivers. She has given several presentations to her professional peers to raise awareness about the real impact of Planning and ADA compliance.
